Terms

The Japanese text of these Terms is authoritative. The English, Korean, and Chinese versions are translations provided for convenience; in the event of any discrepancy, the Japanese version prevails.

Section 1 (Purpose)

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern the use of Humanitext (the “Service”). The purpose of these Terms is to outline the necessary conditions and guidelines for using the Service.

Section 2 (Acceptance of Terms)

By using the Service, users (“Users”) agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms. Users are deemed to have accepted these Terms by accessing or using the Service.

Section 3 (Service Description)

  1. The Service provides responses to user-submitted questions or texts using a database of Western classics.
  2. Users can restrict retrieval by genre, author, and work when submitting questions.
  3. Users can select the mode of response — Q&A, Study, Research, Conversation, or Custom (user-supplied system prompt) — and may also enable No-context mode to query the model without retrieval.
  4. Users can select the model that generates the response, and the number of passages of the primary sources retrieved per question, within the range available on their plan. All three models are available on the free plan; what differs between plans is quantity — the passage ceiling (1–5 free, 1–10 planned for paid) and the size of the daily allowance.
  5. The output includes the text sources used for the responses and features to verify these sources.

Section 4 (User Obligations and Responsibilities)

  1. Users must not: input information for which they do not hold copyright; input discriminatory, prejudiced, or hateful content, or content promoting bullying, harassment, defamation, or criminal activity, or that harms individual safety and health, and must not reuse or distribute outputs derived from such content; input information related to the privacy of themselves or others; or engage in or promote academic misconduct.
  2. Information obtained through the Service may be used for both commercial and non-commercial purposes, provided Users comply with the guidelines and laws of their affiliated organizations, institutions, and countries.
  3. Users under the age of 16 must obtain the consent of a parent or legal guardian before using the Service. The Service does not collect dates of birth.
  4. Using the Service requires signing in with a Google account. No charge arises for use within the free plan.

Section 5 (Data Handling)

  1. Information is collected in order to provide the Service and to record usage statistics. The text of the questions Users submit and of the system's responses is stored, and used for research, only where the separate consent described in Section 3(3) of the Privacy Policy has been given. Every feature of the Service remains available to Users who do not give that consent.
  2. User data is never sold or provided to third parties for those third parties' own purposes. To operate the Service, processing is entrusted, on our instructions, to the providers listed in Section 5 of the Privacy Policy. This does not apply where disclosure is required by law, or where a User engages in criminal activity using the system or causes damage to the system.

Section 6 (Fees and Usage Allowance)

  1. The core Service is provided free of charge within the daily allowance described in the next paragraph, and no payment is required from Users. Should paid plans be introduced, no charge will arise unless a User expressly subscribes to one.
  2. To keep use fair and running costs bounded, each User has a daily allowance measured as an amount of processing. The share remaining is shown on screen as a percentage. The number of questions this covers is not fixed: the model and the number of passages selected determine how quickly the allowance is consumed. The allowance resets at 00:00 UTC.
  3. The Service as a whole also has a daily processing ceiling. When it is reached, no further questions can be accepted until the next reset.
  4. Both limits in the preceding paragraphs may be adjusted without prior notice as operating conditions require.

Section 7 (Service Changes and Termination)

  1. The Service may be changed or suspended without notice as operational needs require.
  2. The Service Provider will not be liable for any disadvantages or losses resulting from changes or termination of the Service.
  3. For the latest information, please refer to the official channel (@humanitext_x).

Section 8 (Disclaimer)

  1. The Service does not guarantee the accuracy of the generated information. Users must verify the information at their own risk.
  2. The Service Provider will not be liable for any damages arising from the use of the generated information.

Section 9 (Governing Law and Jurisdiction)

  1. These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan.
  2. Any disputes arising from or related to the Service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Nagoya District Court in the first instance.
  3. Notwithstanding the two paragraphs above, Users who are consumers retain the protection of those provisions of the consumer law of their country of residence that cannot be derogated from by agreement, where that law so provides.
